Govind Dev Ji Temple
Mathura & Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh
Project Description
Experience the Serenity of Govind Dev Ji Temple, Vrindavan

Overview: Built in 1590 by Raja Man Singh, a general in Akbar’s court, the Govind Dev Ji Temple is a remarkable architectural and spiritual gem in Vrindavan. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, the temple reflects the grandeur of the Mughal era with its red sandstone structure, resembling the design of palatial buildings more than typical temples.
Originally seven stories high, only three remain today after the structure was partially destroyed during invasions. Despite this, the temple remains an awe-inspiring sight, blending Hindu and Mughal architectural styles. The sanctum once housed the idol of Govind Dev Ji, which now resides in Jaipur. The temple’s sacred aura and historical significance continue to draw thousands of pilgrims and heritage enthusiasts.
