Project Description
Hawa Mahal – The Iconic Palace of Winds

Overview: Standing tall in the heart of Jaipur, Hawa Mahal or the "Palace of Winds" is one of India’s most recognizable landmarks. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, this five-storied pink sandstone structure was designed by Lal Chand Ustad and served as a high screen wall for the royal women, enabling them to observe everyday street life without being seen.

The palace features 953 intricately designed small windows (jharokhas) that allow cool breezes to flow through, making it a perfect summer retreat — hence the name Hawa Mahal. Its unique pyramidal architecture blends Rajput and Mughal styles, and the view from the top floors offers a stunning glimpse of the cityscape.
Whether you're a history buff or a photography enthusiast, Hawa Mahal is a must-visit for experiencing Jaipur’s architectural brilliance and royal legacy.
